A good low-rate lives or dies by its economy. VanRO tunes drop rates and NPC sell values with one goal in mind: items should stay meaningful over time, and zeny should never become completely worthless.

Drop Nerfs – Preventing Farm Abuse

Certain drops are historically abusable and can flood the server with zeny or rare items. Their chances were reduced:

  • Witherless Rose (Obeaune) → 0.10%
  • Great Nature (Sleeper) → 5%
  • Ice Pick → 5%
  • Combat Knife → 5%
  • Royal Jelly (Enchanted Peach Tree) → 4%
  • Crystal Blue (Black Mushroom) → 1%

Drop Buffs & Normalization

Some useful equipment is made slightly more accessible so hunting spots feel rewarding:

  • Glove [1] from Sting → 0.05%
  • Muffler [1], Manteau [1], Boots [1], Fin Helm, Ring [1], Earring[1], Brooch [1], and elemental Katars with rates lower than 0.05% have been set to 0.05%.
  • Bow Thimble [0] (Gargoyle) → 5%

Zeny Sell-Price Rule

To stop NPC shops from becoming the primary zeny faucet, VanRO uses a simple rule:

Any item with an NPC price of 5,000z or more is sold at 60% of its listed value.

This keeps zeny generation at healthy levels and encourages players to trade with each other instead of simply dumping everything to NPCs.

Combined with the coin system and bank auditor, this gives staff tools to watch inflation and keep the economy stable for the long term.
